Taiwan Vacation Dec 2007

Although it is a little late but here is the video pictures of the trip to Taiwan during the Christmas break. We were there from December 23 till 26, 2007. Our trip covers Taipei city where we visit Taipei tallest building Taipei 101, CKS memorial Hall, Martyr Shrine and the national museum. We also visited Keelung, the famous port up north and Yehliu where we see great natural rock formation that shape like the Egyptian queen, fairy shoe etc...

We spent the whole day on Christmas at Hualien and Taroko Gorge. We took an early flight from Taipei to Hualien and later a 4 hours train ride along the coastal part back to Taipei. The gorge is really beautiful. Over there we also get a chance to see Taiwan national flower and the beach over looking the Pacific Ocean.

Although the trip was short but we had a great time. We found a nice hotel called Rich Garden. It has very nice boutique hotel with modern amenities such as spa, jet shower and rich Chinese interior. It is located very close to Ximen MRT station. There is much happenings over there till early morning. The most enjoyable time we had there besides shopping was trying out the nice hawker food stores on the street. A nice memorable experience for any traveler who wants to venture out.

Kevin turned 2

Hello everyone... Yippee.... Kevin turned 2 years old last Thursday on July 10. Mommy have been terribly busy and hadn't much time at all. Kevin and mommy arrived to Taiwan on June 29 and been here since then. Mommy is currently teaching English to some children ages 8-11 years old. Kevin joins mommy in her classes in the morning and in the afternoon he goes to a babysitter in the campus. The Taiwan Adventist College has a beautiful surroundings. There are lots of green trees and lots of hills surrounding the place. There are many little ergot's (white birds) everywhere on the ground. It is really pretty.

Unfortunately mommy did not bring a USB cable to upload the pictures to the computer to share. So you will need till we get back to Guam after Aug 19.

Anyway, mommy did had a birthday celebration with Kevin. Teacher Lourders took us out for a nice steak dinner at Puli. We even bought a small cup cake for Kevin. When we got home, we had a conference call with daddy and sang happy birthday. It was simple and nice.

It rains almost every afternoon. Sometimes really heavy rain pour flood the place. So far after 3 weeks, we have visited Sun Moon Lake and the Aboriginal Culture Village. The culture village is actually an amusement park. It has many rides similar to Disneyland. The kids enjoyed themselves. Even Kevin took a few rides on the merry go round, Thomas the train, balloon ride and boat cruise.

So far, that's all for now. The next class will start this Sunday and it will be a busy time for everyone involved in preparation of the Intensive English class. The school is expecting nearly 100 students.

Taiwan an interesting country with culture and diversity. Mommy can speak Mandarin very well and help daddy and me understand it better. Here we visited many places but the weather was terrible... it was cold and wet for the first 2 days. We went to see Keelung harbor, Yehliu rock formation, National Palace Musuem, CKS Memorial Hall, Toroko Gorge etc.... I see many nature surrounding me. We also visited Taipei 101, tallest building in Taiwan.

Mommy & daddy also venture out to try lots of local famous food like beef noodles, mee sua, beef jerky and BBQ sausages. I have lots of fun.
